Cars in German City Found Marked with Swastikas in Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Law Enforcement
Authorities stated they were contacted by a individual who noticed a vehicle in Hanau covered with reddish fluid

Around 50 cars have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Cars, walls and postboxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.

Officers say they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.

The liquid had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they added.

Police then located numerous other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Police report initial examinations indicate the liquid was probably blood from a person.

"There is still no indication as to its source; authorities are currently not aware of any harm in association with the event," they added.

Local authorities stated they were working "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the residents for details.

A senior official said the attack left him stunned and needed to be resolved rapidly.

"This incident affects the core of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the right-wing violent incident five years ago," he stated on a platform, recalling the murder of nine people by a shooter targeting residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
